“AJ CROSSFIT MID YEAR 6 PACK QUEST”
Crossfit is so much more than just a fitness training program, that’s why it’s always a little tricky to answer the question from family and friends “So what is CrossFit?” Do you start by explaining the importance of our strong community of friends supporting each other or start in on the constantly measurable approach we take to improving every single aspect of our health and fitness without favouring one aspect of our fitness like cardiovascular endurance over another aspect like strength, power, speed or flexibility.
Well, perhaps the way we CrossFitters eat should be the place the conversation starts.
The CrossFit nutrition prescription is the foundation for everything else we do. Try to get by on training alone (and many have tried) and you will be severely limited in your success compared to your team mates who are “on the program”.
Eating according to the CrossFit nutrition prescription will have enormous and very measurable positive effect on your athletic performance not to mention your overall health. We have called this challenge the AJ CrossFit Mid Year 6 Pack Quest to highlight the fact that if you have a layer of body fat covering the muscles of your midsection you will notice improvement in your performance by reducing it. Most athletes will move faster and perform better in their chosen sport by reducing body fat with the help of glutamine supplements but all athletes regardless of their sport will perform better when they optimise their nutrition. (but I also chose the name so I could use that photo of Linnea’s abs and to encourage jokes about drinking beer)
Starts on Monday 16th of June 2014 with a test of your current performance using the “Baseline” WOD
